All of our wedding jewellery comes with your choice of lab grown diamond or moissanite gemstones.

The moissanite we use is The Ethica Diamond®, a premium grade moissanite that has been infused at a molecular level with diamond using patented technology and certified to international standards by the GRI or IGI. All of our moissanite reaches the high quality standards of VVS clarity, D-E colour. This is the perfect choice for your bridal and wedding jewellery if you are looking for the most cost effective option without reducing quality. Moissanite sparkles with a brilliant rainbow fire and is incredibly durable, water proof, and heat resistant, making it the ideal long lasting stone to set your wedding jewellery with.

Our carbon neutral lab grown diamonds are ethically sourced from lab grown origins and are the highest quality Type IIA, VVS clarity, D-F colour stones. They are identical to natural diamonds in all ways except their origin and so sparkle with the same sharp clarity and beauty. Diamond is the hardest material known to man, as well as one of the most beautiful, so choosing a lab grown diamond for your bridal jewellery is an amazing way to pair durability, gorgeousness, and ethical considerations into your chosen jewellery piece that will radiate the care and love shared not only between you and your partner but between you and the planet.

Whatever bridall and wedding jewellery piece you choose, lab grown diamond or moissanite are definitely the way to go. They are stunning, ethically responsible, and are sure to last long into the future of your love story.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is bridal and wedding jewellery?

Bridal jewellery typically includes complementary or matching pieces of jewellery that can be worn on your wedding day. This can often include a necklace, earrings, bracelet, and sometimes a tiara or hair accessories. The pieces in a bridal set are designed to complement each other and the bridal outfit.

At Ethica, we also offer bridal ring sets which include both an engagement ring and a matching wedding band. These rings are designed to be worn together, symbolising the union between you and your partner. The engagement ring is typically more ornate, while the wedding band is usually simpler and meant to complement the engagement ring.

In our Bridal & Wedding Collection, you may find pieces that you can customise to suit your look on the big day as well as to compliment a matching ring set if you should also be so inclined.

When you purchase a piece or pieces from Ethica's bridal jewellery you can be rest assured that there will be something perfect to compliment your wedding look and serve as a lasting reminder of the love and commitment you felt on that day.

What to consider when choosing bridal jewellery?

When it comes to your wedding day, we know you want everything to be perfect to express the love and comitment between you and your partner. So here are a few suggestions of what to consider when selecting your wedding jewellery:

Wedding Dress Style - Consider the style and design of your wedding dress, as it will influence the type of jewellery you choose. For instance, if you have a strapless dress, consider a statement necklace for a touch of drama and flair. If your dress has elaborate details, opt for simpler, more delicate jewellery pieces.

Neckline - The neckline of your dress will also affect the type of jewellery you choose. A V-neck or sweetheart neckline can be complemented with a pendant necklace, while a high neckline may not require a necklace at all. Consider whether you want to draw attention to your neckline or keep the focus on other areas.

Hair and Veil - Your hairstyle and whether or not you plan to wear a veil can also influence your jewellery choices. If you have an elaborate updo or plan to wear a veil, consider simpler, more delicate earrings. If you have loose curls or plan to wear your hair down, you can opt for bolder more statement earrings.

Personal Style - Consider your personal style and what makes you feel comfortable and confident. Do you prefer classic and timeless pieces, or do you like to make a bold statement with your jewellery? Choose pieces that reflect your personality and make you feel special.

Metal Tone - Consider the metal tone of your bridal and wedding jewellery. If you have a white gold or platinum ring, for instance, you may want to choose white gold jewellery to match. If you have a yellow gold ring, you may prefer yellow gold gold or rose gold jewellery such as necklaces, bracelets, and earrings to complement it.

Comfort and Practicality - Remember that you will be wearing your bridal jewellery for several hours, so comfort and practicality are important. Avoid pieces that are too heavy or cumbersome, as they may become uncomfortable as the day goes on. Choose pieces that are easy to take off and put on, especially if you will be changing outfits or taking part in any activities that may require removing or adjusting your jewellery.

Budget - Lastly, consider your budget when choosing bridal jewellery. Set a budget for yourself and stick to it, as there is a wide range of options available at various price points. You don't have to spend a fortune to find beautiful jewellery that complements your wedding day look. Check out our lab grown diamond and moissanite collections for a wonderful, ethical, and more budget friendly alternative to natural mined diamonds.

Should I use diamond or moissanite for my wedding jewellery?

The decision to choose between diamond and moissanite for your wedding jewellery ultimately depends on your personal preferences, as well as your budget and ethical considerations. Here are a few factors to consider when making your decision:

Natural diamonds are usually mined with massive detrimental impact on environmental and social concerns. They are also massively expensive with a single diamond costing tens of thousands of pounds.

Lab diamonds, on the other hand, are vastly more cost effective and ethical as they are not mined but grown in laboratory conditions. Here at Ethica, our lab grown diamonds are also carbon neutral and grown with renewable energy where possible. This makes them by a better alternative by far than natural diamond since they are also chemically and visually completely identical. They are usually of a higher quality than mined diamonds even since they are grown in controlled conditions with less risk of imperfections forming.

But what should you choose when it comes to lab grown diamond or moissanite?

Moissanite is more cost effective again than lab grown diamonds since it is economical on resources and energy in the methods it is grown under. On the Mohs scale of hardness moissanite has a rating of 9.25 which is marginally less than diamonds at 10 mohs which means it is not quite so scratch resistant as diamond - although is still more durable than almost any other gemstone! Not only this, but the Ethica Diamond® we use in all of our moissanite jewellery is even closer to diamond in hardness with a reading of 9.7 mohs! This is because the patented technology used to grow an Ethica Diamond® infuses the silicon carbide that a moissanite is made of with a diamond coating at a molecular level.

Visually, moissanite and diamond are almost indistinguishable to the naked eye with only slight differences in their fire and brilliance. Moissanite has a higher refractive index than lab diamond and so sparkles with rainbow brilliance. However, where moissanite has a double refractive index which results in multiple refractions, it means that diamond has a more focused sparkle that reveals the facets within the stone more sharply.

Ultimately, the choice between lab grown diamond and moissanite rests with you based on your personal tastes, budget, and ethical considerations. Whatever you choose, we are certain you will love your bridal jewellery for generations to come as a long lasting symbol of your special day and the commitment between you and your partner.

Can I wear my bridal wedding jewellery beyond my wedding?

Absolutely!

Bridal and wedding jewellery hold sentimental value and symbolism as they are worn during one of the most important days of your life - your wedding day. We suggest that you wedding jewellery should be worn for generations after your wedding day as a reminder of the significance and love of that momentous moment. The stories and memories which become ingrained in whatever jewellery piece you might choose are priceless and will afford great joy and reminiscence for decades after the day you chose your bridal jewellery for.

All of the pieces in our Bridal & Wedding Jewellery Collection are designed to be worn over and over again, perhaps even becoming a family heirloom to pass down to future generations as a testament to the commitment you and your partner made to each other.

While bridal wedding jewellery is traditionally associated with the wedding day, there are no hard and fast rules about when or how it can be worn. Many brides choose to wear their wedding jewellery beyond the wedding day as a reminder of their special occasion and as a way to preserve the memories associated with it.

Additionally, wedding jewellery often consists of timeless and classic designs that can be versatile and worn on other special occasions or even incorporated into everyday outfits. Pieces such as diamond earrings, necklaces, or bracelets can add a touch of elegance and sparkle to any outfit, making them suitable for various events or celebrations.

Ultimately, the decision to wear your bridal wedding jewellery beyond your wedding day is a personal one. If you love the pieces and feel they hold sentimental value, then you absolutely should wear them beyond your wedding day enjoying their beauty for years to come.
